'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' spoilers: Villain may actually be a woman

Filming for the sequel of “Guardians of the Galaxy” has already finished but the main villain of the movie is still being kept under wraps. There are already hints and details as to what “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will be about and there are also some theories speculating on the villain’s identity based on the involvement of some actors.

It is said that the main plot of the sequel will be about Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) trying to find his father. It was revealed in the first movie that Peter Quill is only half-human and the other half of his race is unknown. It was also hinted that his father might belong to an ancient alien race.

Fans are also wondering about the villain that the band of misfits might run into while looking into Star Lord’s parentage. It was reported that Nebula (Karen Gillan) will be involved once again. The sister of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) was a villain in the first film, but it may be highly unlikely that she will be the main villain in the sequel. There are rumors that Nebula may actually join the side of Gamora this time.

Another actor that is involved in the film is Kurt Russel. Some fans are already speculating that he may not be the antagonist in the upcoming film; rather, he might actually be playing the role of Quill’s father.

It is still unknown who Elizabeth Debicki might be playing. Debicki recently starred in the mini-series “The Night Manager” with Tom Hiddleston, and she was also featured in the film “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” People are suggesting that she may be the villain for the sequel of “Guardians of the Galaxy.” If ever she is the villain, fans are speculating that she is suitable to play Ayesha or Kismet.

In the Marvel comic books, the character of Ayesha/Kismet originated from the “Enclave,” a group of scientists who perform crazy experiments. The group wanted to conquer the world by creating the perfect being, thus, creating Ayesha/Kismet. However, the character’s inclusion in the sequel is still yet to be confirmed until the trailer or even the movie has been officially released.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will be released on May 5, 2017.
