Recent rumors have pointed out that the upcoming and long rumored next installment in the bestselling “Grand Theft Auto Franchise,” the “GTA VI,” may be coming with support for virtual reality.
According to a rumor roundup done by Gazette Review, sources tipped that “GTA VI”which in itself is still not yet confirmed as an existing gameis being geared up to have support for virtual reality. Should this prove to be true, players can finally live the experience of “Grand Theft Auto,” as they will be walking the streets of wherever the game’s map will be set, drive, run, jump, and perform impossible tricks and stunts in order to escape getting caught from heists and illegal acts along the way.
However, because headsets such as the Oculus Rift, the PlayStation VR, and the HTC Vive, are either only starting to ship or still in pre-order status, the game cannot be expected to be released sometime soon, with estimates ranging from 2018 to as late as 2020.
As for the location, rumors have it that the game would finally be set somewhere new. The most recent games have been set in the United States, but this time, the game is rumored to be set in the areas of London, United Kingdom.
Rumors for such locations started when Rockstar Games Creative VP Dan Houser made a statement saying that the franchise’s setting need not be always within the U.S.
“At the moment, it feels like GTA’s DNA is contemporary-ish, American-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that’s what it has been,” Houser said, via Reality Today. “But that doesn’t necessarily limit it to those, that’s just what we’ve done so far.”
The latest installment so far, “GTA V,” is almost three years now in the market.
