“GTA 5 Online” players will be up for a double treat this February as Rockstar Games prepares to drop the “Grand Theft Auto 5 Online Lowriders 2” along with a bonus Valentine’s Day content.
According to a report by Movie News Guide, the studio is looking at a Feb. 9 release date.
It can be recalled that the Lowriders DLC was released by the studio only last December which introduced players to “Beast vs. Slasher Adversary Mode” and adversary modes “Relay”, “Keep the Pace”, and “Offense Defense”.
Based on the report, this time around, players will be treated to new weapons like the compact rifle and double barrel shotgun.
The compact rifle is reportedly fashioned after an AK-47 assault rifle.
Aside from cool new weapons, there will be new outfits and masks and a holiday-themed content as well.
A separate report from Breathecast stated that there may also be additional time trials introduced with “Lowriders 2” as the last time trial will finish on Feb. 8.
The report added that aside from the new DLC and the Valentine’s Day content, players will be treated to an upcoming Events Weekend, which will earn them Double GTA dollars and RP Playlist and in-game discounts.
In related news, sales seem to be going well for the game as latest reports indicate that GTA products since July 1, 2013 have reached $2.3 billion in revenue.
The figure translates to roughly 225 million copies of the games in the series with the latest installement accounting for 95 million.
Meanwhile, fans waiting for the sequel to “GTA 5” will have to wait a while longer as it was reprted that Rockstar North head Leslie Benzies has left the studio for good, reported Kotaku.
Benzies has been on leave since September 2014, and has been majorly responsible for the “GTA” franchise. While his team remains firmly in place, it is expected that “GTA 6” may come in 2018 to 2020.
