Fans of “Grey’s Anatomy” will surely anticipate the 13th season finale after knowing the remarks the showrunner made themselves.

“Debbie Allen and I like to say that the episode is on fire. That’s the only way we’re going to describe it. It’s a pretty exciting episode that’s very on fire,” co-showrunner Shonda Rhimes revealed to Entertainment Weekly.

Echoing to Rhimes’ claim, Allen asserted, “I can only tease that it’s going to be hot for real; it’s on fire.”

As director of the finale episode, Allen confirmed that they finished filming last Friday. “We had night shoots and we were up all night for a couple of weeks, but boy it was great,” she said.

She hinted that the episode will give light on what is going to happen in season 14.

“We’re planting some seeds that you won’t see coming, but you will be waiting to see how it’s all going to play out,” said Allen. She described the next season as “spectacular.”

In the latest episode, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) returned to work after her mother died. The rest of the resident physicians of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital were wary of Maggie’s condition. Nonetheless, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) still allowed her to perform heart surgery with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw).

The procedure was successful until the baby started to experience cardiopulmonary arrest, and Maggie froze up. It turned out that she just gave the fetus’ heart some time to adjust and be back to normal.

However, Maggie confessed that she’s not fine, which led Meredith to cancel her dinner date with Nathan (Martin Henderson) again.

The show ended with Jackson (Jesse Williams) giving Maggie some photos of her mother. He said that Diane (LaTanya Richardson Jackson) already knew that she’s dying before her visit to the hospital.

In the 20th episode, Meredith finds Nathan on the same flight, and his seat is actually next to hers. The two seem to have a confrontation about their feelings while stuck inside the bathroom.

The next episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” will air on April 13 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
