Alex Karev’s (Justin Chambers) reaction upon seeing Jo Wilson (Camilla Ludington) on Andrew DeLuca’s (Giacomo Gianniotti) bed was spur of the moment, but it will ultimately cost him something big, probably a turn for the worse with respect to the character’s stint in season 13 of “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Beating up DeLuca may have been warranted after what he saw but just as most people will realize later on, things don’t seem to be what they initially look like. Jo and DeLuca were not sleeping together and the reason why they ended up in one bed was because the former was too drunk that the latter had to help her.

It is speculated that Alex is most likely going to be forced out of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, to say the least. But there also is a possibility that he’ll end up going to jail for what he did to DeLuca.

According to Cartermatt, the winter finale of season 13 of “Grey’s Anatomy” will be a very crucial one for the long-running series especially since one of the main characters in the person of Alex will finally get the reckoning he may or may not deserve.

Episode 9’s synopsis briefly talks about Alex making perhaps the biggest decision of his life, while also teasing that the hospital and its staff will be preoccupied with victims of an apparent building collapse. Furthermore, there will be some tension between Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) as the former will be pressing the latter for an explanation as to why Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) is still in the hospital. But Webber himself will be facing a lot of uncertainty since there already are a few people in the hospital who are, in one way or another, questioning or doubting his methods.

Watch season 13 of “Grey’ Anatomy” every Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
