ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” is already halfway its 12th season. While the series goes on a winter break, the fall finale has definitely given viewers a lot to ponder and speculate on until the show comes back next year.
It was a packed episode for the Emmy Award winning series as a few altercations came about among the main characters of the show, one of which is between Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). In “Things We Lost In The Fire,” the sisters-in-law got into an argument triggered by Owen (Kevin McKidd) seemingly opening up to Meredith and Amelia, pushed to the sideline, clamored for information. Unfortunately, Meredith wouldn’t budge and share what Owen just revealed about his feud with Nathan (Martin Henderson), despite Owen and Amelia dating. After Amelia threw in some accusations including his dead brother Derek (Patrick Demspey), Meredith snapped and threw her out of the house.
Meanwhile, Kevin McKidd recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and gave in a few tidbits on what followers of the show can expect in the latter half of the season especially with his character’s burgeoning relationship with Amelia. “It’s still this push and pull. Me and Caterina keep saying, ‘Wow, we’ve been dating for like three years now, and all we do is hold hands.’ [Laughs] They’re the slowest going couple ever. There’s definitely going to be some movement with them, which I’m excited about… I love working with her. She’s amazing… We’re going to see a lot more of those two in the back half of the season,” the Scottish actor shared.
He even hinted that the thing between Owen and Nathan will only intensify and will more likely bring out the dark twisted side of his character.
“Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 continues next year with “Sound of Silence” which will be directed by Academy Award winner Denzel Washington. It will air on Feb. 11, 8 P.M. EST on ABC.
