In less than a month, “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 will be returning to the small screen, with more woes ahead for Meredith, played by actress Ellen Pompeo.
Titled “The Sound of Silence,” fans will see disturbing scenes in episode 9 of the show. According to Kelly McCreary, who portrays Maggie the half-sister of Meredith, during the Television Critics Association winter press tour, “Meredith is attacked, and it is as terrifying and as shocking as you would expect for it to be,” noted TV Line. She added, “Get ready to have your guts feel like they’re coming out of you, because it is truly harrowing.”
Meredith is no novice when it comes to tragedies in her life. In the past, she has managed to escape a plane crash, bomb explosions, and even come out tough from the sudden death of her husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) in the previous season. However, the upcoming episode is expected to be the worst and most terrifying.
Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner in the show, explained that perhaps what makes the experience more terrible for Meredith is “she is totally powerless in the midst of it,” noted Entertainment Online.
Meanwhile, James Pickens Jr., who is Richard Webber, one of Meredith’s co-worker in “Grey’s Anatomy,” shared that the episode will highlight how their work family will give them some eye-openers after the incident. He said, “It makes us realize how much of a family Seattle Grace really is and how in times of trauma and times of turmoil, how you come together for the common good,” in the same entertainment portal. He added, “In this case, it’s saving her life basically.”
What could be the terrible scene coming in the next episode that makes even other cast members be terrified? Fans will find out more when “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 returns for episode 9 on Feb. 11 at 8 P.M. EST on ABC.
