Fans have already been warned last week that Meredith will experience the most terrible and shocking attack when season 12 of “Grey’s Anatomy” comes back from winter break next month. They already have an idea of its extent, as co-stars from the television show described it, but viewers got a preview of the incident themselves through the promotional trailer released.
The preview sends chills as Meredith, played by Ellen Pompeo, looks as if she is struggling for her life. The clip starts off with the doctor telling her patient to go back to his bed. All of a sudden, the patient violently and forcefully attacks Meredith, even breaking the window glass as he pushes the doctor towards it. Later on, Meredith is unconscious at the floor, while other hospital workers hasten to assist her.
The background sound in the clip also somewhat emphasizes the severity of her condition, as it goes silent momentarily. Meredith is placed on oxygen support and CPR is performed to her.
Meanwhile, TV Line revealed that Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) will be very hard on herself upon hearing the news, even if she was not even present on the scene. Back in the midseason finale, Meredith and Amelia had a row, but given the latter’s tendency to blame herself, she will feel “terrible about what happened,” the actress revealed in the news portal when she talked about her character.
How bad? According to reports, it will reportedly affect her relationship with Owen (Kevin McKidd), who also his own share of troubles to think about. Scorsone described their situation, “He’s not capable of being there for her and she’s not capable of being there for him,” noted Melty. She added, “It’s a mess,”
“Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 will return with episode 9, titled “The Sound of Silence” on Feb. 11 at 8 P.M. EST on ABC.
