Season 12 of “Grey’s Anatomy” will be airing a two-hour special episode this week. Episode 18 will revolve around a critical but incorrect decision that one of the team members made, making him pay for the consequences in the second hour of the medical drama television series.
Titled “There’s a Fine, Fine Line,” the summary of episode 18 posted on TV.com reads, “Ben operates on a pregnant woman without the proper equipment while the hospital is on lockdown.”
Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George) has the best interest in mind when he performed a C-section delivery for a pregnant woman who is already in a critical condition. However, the proper protocol in performing the procedure is not present, placing him in hot water later on.
In the sneak peek for the upcoming episode, Ben is seen trying his best to explain to Alex (Justin Chambers) why he proceeded with the operation. He explains how the mother needed the emergency operation or else both she and the baby will die.
However, his decision did not turn out very well, since Alex points out that the child is now in an even more critical condition and they may likely lose them both. Upon hearing this, Ben offers help.
Meanwhile, Miranda (Chandra Wilson) walks in and asks to speak with him privately. Ben is reluctant, explaining to her about the condition of the patient and insisting to help. However, Miranda raises her tone and firmly asks him to go with him.
Ben will be facing the consequences of his actions in episode 19 of the show. Titled “It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding),” it is still uncertain what disciplinary action will be ruled out for him, but it is likely very grave.
Meanwhile, the rest of the episode will also see April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) trying to compromise with the baby in mind, while Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) may be making a critical move that may dent her relationship with Callie (Sara Ramirez).
The two-hour special of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 will air on April 14 at 8 P.M. EST on ABC.
