After the back-to-back episode last week that placed Ben in hot water, the next episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 will shift its focus on the other doctors of Grey Sloan Hospital, particularly on Callie and Arizona as things get intense for them.
In the previous episode, Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) already started to have some disagreements when the latter made a decision that did not sit well with Callie. However, this is expected to get even more intense in the upcoming episode, particularly when the ex-partners discuss about the future of someone close to their hearts. Meanwhile, the rest of the doctors in Grey Sloan Hospital will be trying to save the life of a boy who gets shot by accident.
Titled “Trigger Happy,” the official synopsis posted on TV Guide for episode 20 reads, “A young boy gets shot by mistake, and the doctors desperately try to save his life. Meanwhile, Callie attempts to make a decision about Sofia’s future on her own, and this doesn’t sit well with Arizona.”
In the sneak peek for episode 20, the conversation starts off pleasantly as Callie and Arizona talk about their daughter. However, things become sour when Callie brings up taking Sofia to New York City and particularly with her new love interest, Penny (Samantha Sloyan).
Arizona said, “I need to take a big step backwards. Somewhere, sometime, you heard me say yes to this. You heard me say, ‘Yes, please, Callie, take my daughter across the country’ but I never said that.”
She added, “Go. Be happy. Have your Penny. You’re just not taking my daughter with you.”
However, Callie is also infuriated, highlighting the matter about the “biological mom vs. adoptive mom” issue. Their concern may likely continue in the next few episodes of the American medical drama television series.
Episode 20 of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 will air on April 21 at 8 P.M. EST on ABC.
