The award-winning title from developer Rockstar Games, “Grand Theft Auto V,” is still one of the most talked about games three years after its release. Fans, on the other hand, have been asking about the game’s sequel, “Grand Theft Auto VI,” for quite some time now, specifically inquiring about when it will finally be released.
Solid fans might call to mind that at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the title was a no-show at Rockstar’s event which made fans a bit frustrated and left to wonder why it was not shown. The most probable reason for the game’s absence is that Rockstar has nothing to show at all about the highly anticipated title and there are talks going around that “Grand Theft Auto VI” might not come out until two or even three years from now.
If players were to base the trend on how the game developer rolls out new titles for the “Grand Theft Auto” franchise, a possible release window can be assumed. The first three episodes of the series were developed by DMA Design with “Grand Theft Auto III” as their last title to develop in the game franchise, which went out in 2001. The fourth main installment of the game was released seven years later and was followed by “Grand Theft Auto V” in 2013. With this information, it can be deduced that the next main title of the game series will be out by 2018 or even later.
Meanwhile, there are numerous speculations as to what the next “Grand Theft Auto” would look like and what new features it will offer to fans. There were reports suggesting that the next game will be set in England in the 1960s. Moreover, there are rumors of a female lead character in the next title of the game, to be voiced over by Eva Mendes together with his longtime partner Ryan Gosling whose role has yet to be known.
Nevertheless, there are some who speculate that “Grand Theft Auto VI” will be set in the future and is said to be a whole lot different from the game’s previous installments.
Rockstar Games, on the other hand, has yet to comment on these speculations and as such, fans should be taking these rumors with a grain of salt.
