'Grand Theft Auto 6' release date news: Game reportedly delayed, has development even started yet?

It is quite obvious that Rockstar Games is going to come up with the sixth installment for the “Grand Theft Auto” franchise. After all, the game series is its main cash cow and there is no reason to cancel something that is making a lot of money. The question is: When will it come out? Is Rockstar even working on it right now?

Fraghero and several other publications have reported that the game is going to be delayed until 2020 due to its budget, which has allegedly reached $500 million. Now, how did they know this? Do they have an insider telling them these things? Did they pull this out of thin air?

Right now, all reports point to Fraghero as the main source of the “delay” rumor, and they didn’t mention their source. A source that said he works for the developers would have been good enough to consider or maybe a leak of some sort even if it is unverified. But this? Until a legitimate source is produced, this rumor is simply clickbait.

Well, the good news is Rockstar will continue to make “Grand Theft Auto” titles as long as it is making them money. Anyone who doubts that Rockstar will make a sequel should remember that “Grand Theft Auto V” made $1 billion in three days. According to Guinness World Records, “Grand Theft Auto V” has already become one of the best-selling games of all time.

“GTA totally deserves to be recognized as an icon of modern British culture, and we’re thrilled to be able to feature the game in the record books. Gaming is no longer a niche hobby, as GTA 5 has proved, and how exciting that it’s taken on the might of Hollywood and won! I’m also doubly proud as a Dundonian to welcome this home-grown series back into the Guinness World Records book,” Guinness World Records editor-in-chief, Craig Glenday, said.
