'Grand Theft Auto 5' news: Halloween DLC a hoax; Single Player DLC to bring back old characters; in-game updates for PS3 and Xbox 360 version to stop soon

Fans of Rockstar Games award-winning game “Grand Theft Auto V” will be disappointed to know that until now, the developer has not released any information or announcement regarding the much-hoped for Halloween DLC for the game.

What’s more, according to Crossmap, the Halloween DLC banner which was spotted on a website for PlayStation 4 games is a hoax. The report stated that because Rockstar’s Newswire page did not make any confirmation, then the release of the downloadable content is not happening. Also, the screenshot used was the one from the Business DLC of “GTA 5.”

One YouTube, user MrBossFTW uploaded a video explaining the Halloween DLC hoax. He said that the way the words “The HalloWeen Update” were spelled on the website was a “dead giveaway” that the banner is a fake. Moreover, the graphics used to create the banner was not professional enough. In fact, according to the user, Rockstar Games is known for making really creative themes and images.

Still, MrBossFTW mentioned that a Halloween DLC will be a great addition to the game in case the game developer decides to add it.

On the other hand, reports suggest that the pending Single Player DLC for the game might see old characters coming back as legacy players. Characters such as Michael de Santa, Trevor Philips, and Franklin Clinton, Yusuf Amir, and Niko Bellic are some of the ones surfacing online.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Rockstar Games will drop updates for “GTA 5” on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by way of downloadable contents soon. Before this takes effect, however, a major update is scheduled for the older consoles. This can mean that the Heist DLC and GTA online multiplayer mode can still be experienced by those who are on the said platforms.

For those who have not tried the 2013 game, it can be ordered from the Rockstar Warehouse website at $59.99 for all gaming consoles. A discounted PC download version can also be purchased for only $40.19 from the same page.
