The upcoming and long rumored GoPro Hero 5 action camera is rumored to be coming before the year ends due to the tease that the company CEO made recently. Additionally, the device is also expected to come with another GoPro device, the new Karma drone.

According to a report by Value Walk, GoPro is planning to release at least three new devices before this year closes to an end however, it was not mentioned what these devices are. The information came from The Verge’s recent interview with the company’s CEO, Nick Woodman. While Woodman did not specifically mention the long rumored Hero 5 action camera to be one of the devices that they would be launching, the tease had rekindled the long running rumors and speculations surrounding the device for quite some time now.

In the same interview, Woodman revealed that the company’s revenues have declined by a certain amount for the year 2015, which caused issues within the company, particularly concerns within the company’s investors. However, it seems that the company is confident that they would get back in shape and regain lost ground through the release of their new devices.

“Our growth rate has slowed, and some analysts have attributed this to the competitive threats and our ability to address a market beyond our core customer,” the CEO said during an investors call earlier this year.

Along with the long rumored Hero 5 action camera, GoPro is also expected to launch the much awaited drone, dubbed as the Karma drone. These two devices were previously rumored to be released simultaneously, but recent reports now point to the strong possibility of the two devices not only being launched at the same time, but also getting sold as a bundle.

As for the specs, the upcoming Hero 5 device is expected to sport more advanced features as that of the current Hero 4 camera, and one of the most talked about feature is the support for an 8K Full Ultra HD resolution, something that is yet unheard of for any consumer device as of now.
