Google Nexus 7 2016 specs, release date with Android Nougat OS coming this month?

Google is known for working with top mobile developers in order to produce its Nexus lineup of devices. Alongside the new smartphones rumored to be currently in development, there are some talks of yet another device that has been circulating in the rumor mill recently the Google Nexus 7 (2016) tablet. According to the latest reports, the new tablet from the Mountain View-based company will be more powerful than last year’s release and that it may be coming with all the other rumored Nexus devices this year.

The new Google Nexus 7 is expected to be released sometime in the coming months, with some rumors claiming that the tablet would finally be released this month which could be highly unlikely, seeing as the Android Nougat 7.0, the new version of Google’s mobile operating system (OS), has yet to have a full public release.

As for the possible set of specifications for the device, not much is known at this time, since talk about the Nexus 7 2016 in the rumor mill has been sparse. However, from what has been revealed, it is expected that the upcoming Google-branded tablet would be coming in sporting more internal storage capacity and bigger random access memory (RAM) capacity for more multitasking capabilities.

First off, the new tablet is expected to come running under the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. As for the storage, it is expected to sport at least 4 GB worth of RAM and 128 GB worth of internal storage capacity, which could be expandable via an external microSD card slot.

Just like the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 smartphones, the Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet is expected to be the first tablet device to be out in the market with the Android Nougat 7.0 OS.

The two new upcoming Nexus smartphones, known in the rumor mill as the Nexus Sailfish and the Nexus Marlin, are rumored to be in development by Taiwanese mobile developer HTC. Meanwhile, no manufacturer for the new Nexus 7 tablet has been identified.
