Sony is hosting a PlayStation Experience this coming weekend in San Francisco to show fans the games lined up for its consoles starting 2016. The said event may include the much-anticipated “God of War 4.”
Fans have been looking forward to “God of War 4” this year. Although it did not come and no official word has been mentioned about the game, fans may have a first look at the event as it will likely be featured during the PlayStation Experience. Segment Next believes that Sony will include “God of War 4” in the list, as four omega signs in the event’s teaser were seen. Likewise, the company’s desire to make a strong impression to its fans before the year ends may be enough to push Sony to include the said title.
One buzz regarding “God of War 4” is the resurrection of one of the main characters, Kratos, after dying previously. It was sparked by a blog posted by game creator Cory Barlog earlier this year that seems to suggest the return of Kratos. However, Movie Pilot said that the developers may instead opt for a new character that could expand the game in a different storyline, such as serving as a prequel.
As for its release date, Barlog told IGN that fans will hear about the game in a “year or two,” noted K Pop Starz.
In the meantime, fans can resort to another “God of War” franchise, the remastered version of “God of War 3” released earlier this year. This game comes in an 1080p gameplay along with excellent weapons, modes, battles, and bosses that are expected to hook both loyal players and newcomers.
The PlayStation Experience will be held on Dec, 5 and 6, and players can see and try the upcoming games lined in the coming years. “God of War 4” may come in 2016, 2017, or 2018.
