'Game of Thrones' news: 'The Winds of Winter' release reported to arrive in the middle of the show's sixth season

“Game of Thrones” fans can breathe a little regarding the future of the show as “The Winds of Winter” might finally already have a release date. If various reports. are to be believed, the newest book in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Fire and Ice,” has a possibility of being released in the middle of the sixth season six of the HBO hit series.

It might be a little bit later than its supposed launch date, but at least it wouldn’t be too much of a waiting game. Also, the TV show adaptation can carry on with a season per year turn around.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight way back in April, Martin expressed his desire to finish penning the book as soon as possible.

“Having ‘The Winds of Winter’ published before season 6 of ‘Thrones’ airs next spring has been important to me all along. I wish it was out now. Maybe I’m being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I’m turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done,” the author explained.

Furthermore, International Design Times stated that the anticipated novel is slated to come out sometime in the first quarter of 2016 with fans claiming that a crew member from “Game of Thrones” season 6 was spotted holding the manuscript while in production. There were even claims that the directors of the TV program already read the book and started discussing how they are going to translate the story from the book to the small screen.

During the last episode of “Game of Thrones,” Jon Snow was betrayed and ultimately stabbed to death. Given George RR Martin’s knack for jaw dropping twists and surprises, everything is possible at this point.

“Game of Thrones” season 6 will return to HBO this coming April.
