Filming is underway for the seventh season of “Game of Thrones” in Spain, and the islet of Gaztelugatxe has welcomed several cast members of the hit HBO series over the past few days. Last week, it was reported that Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos) and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) were seen filming a scene together, hinting at an alliance between two major characters in the series. Now, a new set of leaked photos confirms that two main players will be meeting at some point in the new installment, and a possible partnership or even a marriage could occur in season 7.
Watchers on the Wall published a few photos taken from a distance which shows Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) meeting at a place which overlooks the sea. In one of the photos, a cameraman wearing a red shirt films the scene which feature the Mother of Dragons looking out to the sea, while the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch stands behind her.
The season 6 finale showed Daenerys sailing off to Westeros after years of exile. As she travels with her vast army made up of Dothraki warriors, the Meereenese, and the full force of the Iron Islands, it is expected that Dani will fight for the Iron Throne, and based on the leaked photos, it looks like Jon will be playing a part in the fight for the kingdom.
Dani left her lover behind as she knew that the best way for her to make an alliance is through marriage, and Jon Snow appears to be a prime candidate for her husband-to-be. However, it remains to be seen if they’ll find out that they’re related, as Jon was revealed to be the son of Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi) and Rhaegar Targaryen, the former being Daenerys’ brother.
Apart from the two joining forces to take on Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and the crown, it was also speculated that the characters will be teaming up as they fight against the White Walkers. With Dani’s army and Jon’s supporters backing them up, it looks like fans will be in for an epic battle when “Game of Thrones” returns next year.
“Game of Thrones” season 7 premieres in summer 2017 on HBO.
