With HBO’s critically acclaimed series “Game of Thrones” currently in production for season 7, fans are said to be taking clues from photos of filming in order to predict what will happen in the follow-up narrative.
According to Comicbook.com, it is suggested that there will be a lot of family conflict not only between different banners but also among their respective members. Specifically, the apparent reunion between the Stark siblings Arya (Maisie Williams), Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) will not be a happy one. Since the ladies have grown into very different women, Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) will allegedly exploit and use their hatred toward each other to his own advantage.
Meanwhile, an epic battle is speculated to take place at Highgarden pitting Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) against the Tyrell army led by bannerman Randyll Tarly (James Faulkner). It can be recalled that it was Cersei’s (Lena Headey) idea to use the remaining wildfire to incinerate all those who went against her. Aside from the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce), Margaery (Natalie Dormer), Loras (Finn Jones) and their father, Mace (Roger Ashton-Griffiths), all died in the fire.
Presumably, to make things more interesting, the fight between the Lannisters and Tyrells will be joined by Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and her supporters. She is deemed to side with Lady Olenna (Dianna Rigg) to bring down the lions and ultimately form an alliance with The Queen of Thorns.
What may have added to the assumption that the so-called battle at Highgarden will indeed happen is the recent recasting of the role of Dickon Tarly. Sam’s (John Bradley) brother was first seen during their uncomfortable dinner at Horn Hill upon his return from the Night Watch.
The Independent shared that the character of Dickon was first played by actor Freddie Stroma but the part has been recast with “Black Sails” and “Merlin” alum Tom Hopper. Although it is expected that his participation will be brief given that there are only 7 episodes in the run, Dickon is said to play a pivotal role.
Dickon and his father Randyll are allegedly present during the ambush scene where Daenerys aids the Tyrells. The father-son duo may meet their demise, leaving Sam as the head of the family.
Since there is no official synopsis yet, available information should be taken with a grain of salt. Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” is slated to air in summer 2017.
