'Game of Thrones' season 7 release date, spoilers, plot rumors: Jon Snow set for marriage next season?

Romance would be the last thing to expect with George R.R. Martin’s widely-followed “A Song of Ice and Fire” TV adaptation, “Game of Thrones” as most of the budding relationships in the serial drama usually end up in tragedy just like what happened with Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) last paramour.

Nonetheless, the show may well seem to get another shot at it next season as word on the street now suggests that the new leader of the North will be entangled yet again with one of the show’s familiar lasses, none other than the redhead Sansa Stark played by “X-Men Apocalypse” star Sophie Turner.

This fan theory arose as fans of the show might have also checked the precursor novel of Martin where the best men of the famed five houses went up against each other and whoever won Ashford House’s battle royal would be set to wed Lady Ashford. That being said, this story plot in the books is strikingly similar to what’s happening with the show in which Jon is one of those five men.

It was also pointed out that this rumored couple are first-degree cousins, which is obviously incestuous in the real world. However, it’s the “Game of Thrones” lore that’s being talked about and as far as fans are concerned, the marrying of close relatives in this mythos will be just like typical marriages.

Meanwhile, other speculations say that Megan Parkinson, who is said to be Turner’s double in the show, is rumored to be assuming a different role. Fan forums came to this conclusion as they have noticed that Parkinson’s stature is a bit shorter in comparison to Turner’s built.

Moreover, it was also highlighted that production for the upcoming season conducted a casting call early on in search of a “Northern girl” in her teens making Parkinson spot-on for the part.

Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” is expected to premiere in the middle of next year, not to mention that the forthcoming installment will be three episodes shorter than the usual 10.
