'Game of Thrones' season 7 air date, spoilers, plot: Richard Madden talks Lord Stoneheart rumors; Daenerys to ally with the North?

As the appearance of Lady Stoneheart in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” season 7 seems to become less likely, rumors have it that the narrative will head toward another direction and introduce a so-called Lord Stoneheart instead.

Book readers may recall that the fan-favorite character from George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series is the reanimated version of Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley). She seeks revenge on the people who have wrongdoings against her family. Since some believe that she may not appear anymore, it is suggested that her son Robb Stark will take her place in the adapted show.

However, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actor Richard Madden who portrays the Young Wolf revealed that there is no assurance he will return to reprise the role.

“I’ve not heard anything, of course. I suppose I wouldn’t have the phone call, because they’re very secretive about everything,” he said.

Madden mused that Robb had a great storyline for the first three seasons. His narrative, which had a good start, middle and end, served a great purpose in the bigger picture of Westeros.

He admitted that he is not even sure if Robb will be resurrected, “I haven’t gotten a call. I don’t know, I’d have to read… I stopped reading the books a couple years ago because the show kept changing and I’d much rather just watch it and see what came next.”

The actor added that after Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) death and return to life, nothing said about the show can be trusted.

Meanwhile, with production underway for the new installment, some fans took it upon themselves to theorize what could happen next.

According to Watchers on the Wall, Daenerys Targaryen could be planning a major alliance with the North. Emilia Clarke who plays the part was reportedly spotted filming some scenes in the location for the Dragonpit that included a meet-up with Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham).

Other reports claim that there were also some scenes that featured Jon Snow riding south to meet with Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) while his sister Yara (Gemma Whelan) may be captured by their uncle, Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbk). The two allied with the Dragon Queen at the end of season 6.

Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” is slated to premiere sometime in 2017.
