'Game of Thrones' season 6 news: Maisie Williams talks about Jon Snow's return

When Jon Snow, played by actor Kit Harrington, was killed in season 5 of “Game of Thrones,” fans were devastated to learn his fate.

However, there are rumors looming around that he is alive as the actor was seen in shootings for the show’s sixth installment. At the same time, the promotional poster released by HBO, showing the character, seem to suggest that he will be back in season 6.

In an interview with Maisie Williams at the UK Critics’ Circle Awards 2016 by The Upcoming, the actress, who plays Arya Stark in the show, neither confirmed nor denied anything, when asked about Jon Snow’s fate.

She said, “I feel so mean because I speak to people and they’re all like, ‘Jon Snow, is he back?’ and it’s, like, really heartbreaking because people are like, ‘yeah, but he’s coming back though?’ It’s a great twist, but I can’t say he’s going to be alive.”

Williams indicated that there will be a twist, which may imply that the upcoming season will feature a different “Jon Snow,” perhaps being reborn to a different character.

Earlier, co-creator Dan Weiss said “Dead is dead,” excerpting from the first page of the first book of “A Song of Fire and Ice,” noted TV Guide. His statement seems to be implying double meaning, especially that fans have been bugging him about Jon Snow ever since his tragic death in the previous season.

Up to now, it remains to be seen whether fans will see Jon Snow in season 6 and to what extent. Will there be flashbacks? Will he be reborn to a different character? Or are they simply teasing fans? HBO and the cast of “Game of Thrones” are certainly keeping the detail very well under the wraps.

Fans will find out when “Game of Thrones” season 6 returns to the small screen on April 24.
