With “Frozen” making a hit with little girls and Disney movie fans alike, it comes as no surprise that a part two of the movie will be produced from Walt Disney. And with the “Frozen Fever,” fans just cannot “let it go” when it comes to speculating about the possible storyline of part two.
Last month, there were several speculations regarding its plot, most of them imaginative and a bit out of the box. For instance, some rumors suggested that Anna (Kristen Bell) also has a secret power given that her sister Elsa (Idina Menzel) has one. As she was able to knock the wolves out as well as punch Hans (Santino Fontana) to the floor, one of the rumors indicates that her power has tremendous strength.
Nonetheless, co-director Chris Buck already clarified that “Her superpower is love” and goes on to explain “You know, like a mama bear can raise a car off their kid with their super strength, love is very powerful,” reports HitFix. Other rumors also suggested a link between Tarzan and Rapunzel to the story of Frozen, but these are all speculations.
In fact, the entire storyline is not yet planned out and finalized, reports Movie Pilot, although the writing process is currently underway and the movie ending will be “terrific” according to Chris Buck. It added that the younger Elsa will also have a heavy role in the plot.
Aside from these, fans can also expect a less fearful queen in the sequel, as Buck said, “In Frozen she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she’s just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again. That’s what was really good about Frozen Fever — we could have fun with Elsa. And that personality… you will see in the next one.”
Fans will also see more of the sister power, as Buck acknowledged that Elsa and Anna were the key to the movie’s success. “Frozen 2” can expect the same theme where the story has a good message to tell, especially for people who feel like an outcast. According to Movie Pilot, Buck said: “We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with. I think we’re very aware of what is happening in society.”
There is no confirmed date for its release yet, but “Frozen 2” is rumored to be out on the big screen after 2018.
