After confirming that the highly anticipated “Frozen 2” will indeed happen, Disney has yet to update fans regarding the progress of production which has led some to believe that its big screen release may be delayed.
According to reports, the studio could be focusing first on the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic film “The Beauty and the Beast” headlined by Emma Watson. It is deemed that that they may not be able to launch succeeding high-budget projects in a span of two years which is why “Frozen 2” may arrive either in 2017 or 2018.
Actress Kristen Bell who gives voice to Princess Anna previously shared her thoughts as to why the second iteration to the highest grossing animated film seems to be taking a long time to finish, “They take a lot of time over there to just perfect it. It has to go through a lot of development to make sure it’s exactly the story that needs to be told.”
“The story is great, and they exude quality. They wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging, and I think they found it,” she added.
Meanwhile, another possible cause of delay is the rumored difficulty that the music team is allegedly facing as they try to come up with another huge hit similar to the record-breaking single “Let It Go.” The original soundtrack created by husband-and-wife team, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez has been critically acclaimed and became really popular across generations.
The people behind the musical score may possibly want to create the right kind of tunes and lyrics that will hopefully be as powerful as or even better than the one in featured in the first movie. It also has to convey a message that will resonate to the viewers.
When it comes to the plot, the follow-up narrative is predicted to see Queen Elsa of Arendelle finally owning up to her superpowers. She is also expected to spend more time with Princess Anna as they become closer while fighting off antagonists. However, another speculation is that the sisters might become enemies when Anna finds out that she is an illegitimate child.
Since there is no official statement from Disney yet, available information regarding “Frozen 2” should be taken with a grain of salt.
