Following Kristen Bell’s comments earlier this year that the crew was about to start production on the much-awaited sequel of “Frozen,” the project seems to have gone underground. No prominent development about it has been released ever since which in turn give theorists the opportunity to offer their opinion on the matter.
The actress who voices Anna, half of the Arendelle sisters, sat down with Collider back in spring while promoting her latest movie at the time, “The Boss.” But with the project already confirmed, it is hard to believe that nothing has come out of the set if they have already started working on it. Furthermore, back then, it seemed that the skeleton of the story was already in place as Bell teased the potential of it.
“The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn’t just put something out to put it out,” she said. “That’s why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one.”
Nevertheless, if Disney is taking their time with the project, it is totally understandable given the pressure for them to produce a follow-up for something as successful as “Frozen.” Bell herself even commented on the matter saying, “Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it.”
The eerie silence has also become a platform for numerous rumors one of which suggests cast members not getting along with each other resulting in them dropping the project.
So far, there is no specific release date for “Frozen 2” but it might be a good idea for Disney not to let the project sit on their studios for so long given the ever-changing landscape of cinema.
