After months of being stalled, the divorce case “Flip or Flop” stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa can finally roll.
In a report by E! News, court documents state that Christina filed her response to Tarek’s divorce petition filed last January. Details of the response confirm that the 34-year-old blonde is asking for joint physical and legal custody of their kids. Moreover, she is also requesting for spousal support, as well as compensation for her attorney’s fees.
“Christina is glad she is one step closer to putting the divorce behind her,” shared a source who is close to the matter. Meanwhile, Christina listed the official date of their bitter breakup as May 23, 2016. She also cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.
Last month, the Orange County Register reported that a court notice was released, confirming that the divorce was sitting empty. The reason was that Christina has yet to send her response and submit key documents.
“Substantial time has passed since this case was filed and it appears it is not moving forward,” read the case review notification. “Be advised, failure to serve or complete your case within a certain period of time may lead to dismissal,” the notice from the Orange County Superior Court continued.
Prior to Christina’s response, only the case’s procedural paperwork was on hand. In addition, a statement that confirmed Christina had already received the notice eight months back was the only other document obtained.
Despite the friction, the El Moussas are able to pull off a smooth on-cam relationship. The two are currently in the middle of “Flip or Flop” Season 7, and things seem to be working out fine. Back in June, photos of the two surfaced, showing the ex-lovers goofing around the set of “Flip or Flop.”
The two also share the same reasons behind their chemistry, which are their children. Tarek also stressed that he does not hate Christina. With this, he notes that he would never feel that way because of their two kids.
