After a short pilot season, HGTV renews “Flip or Flop Atlanta” for a much longer Season 2.
According to Variety, the spin-off of the original “Flip or Flop” show will return for another season. The show will feature 14 episodes, as against only five from Season 1. The renewal was a welcome development as the show attracted over 7.9 million viewers since its July premiere.
Moreover, Deadline reported that the show also helped HGTV become a top three cable network for upscale women aged 25 to 54 for the Thursday, 9 to 9:30 p.m timeslot. “The performance of Flip or Flop Atlanta is exactly what we anticipated,” said John Feld, SVP Programming for HGTV.
“The Corsinis’ real estate and budgeting savvy, expansive renovations and seemingly effortless ability to manage their business relationship is inspiring for anyone who has ever thought about flipping a house,” Feld added.
The show stars the husband-and-wife tandem of Ken and Anita Corsini. Ken is a licensed contractor while Anita is a real estate and design guru. Much like Tarek and Christina El Moussa of the original “Flip or Flop” series, the Corsinis look for properties within Atlanta, which they transform, remodel, and resell.
Meanwhile, the El Moussas’ divorce case is finally moving. E! News reported that Christina already filed her response to the divorce case filed by Tarek in January. The details confirmed that the 34-year-old blonde is asking for legal and physical custody of their two children. Additionally, she is also requesting for spousal support alongside compensation for attorney’s fees.
“Christina is glad she is one step closer to putting the divorce behind her,” a source shared to E! News. Christina listed “irreconcilable differences” as the primary reason for their separation.
Last month, the Orange County Register reported that the court released a notice confirming the case was sitting empty. The report said that Christina has not yet sent her response together with some key documents.
“Flip or Flop Atlanta” season 2 will premiere sometime in 2018.
