The fourth installment in the series is only two months old, but Scott Cawthon revealed recently that he is already working on another entry.

The game, which Android Authority said is not a sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, is going to be a whole new concept and is basically a role-playing game.

According to Christian Today, Cawthon made the announcement this week at Steam. In the announcement, the developer explained that the new title, which he called “FNAF World” will not be a horror game like the first four entries in the franchise were.

Instead, it will be a party-based RPG and will feature all the characters in the series.

“[It will be] a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions,” the developer said in the announcement.

He also revealed the extent of the game’s development so far.

“I’ve been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week,” he outlined, but he added that he cannot make an estimate as to when the game will be released. However, he revealed that the game will be released on PC, Android and iOS.

Cawthon also said that the release of teasers for the upcoming Halloween update for Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 and the new game has caused confusion, as some fans wondered if the story did indeed finish in the previous title.

He then clarified that the story has ended with Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, and there will not be a fifth installment. As to why he is developing Five Nights at Freddy’s World, Cawthon said that he wanted to use the characters he created in a type of game that he hasn’t developed for some time.

“I wanted to use these characters in a new and fun way because they are so near and dear to my heart, and I was excited to work on a type of game that I hadn’t made in a long time,” he revealed.
