'Final Fantasy XV' release date: Hajime Tabata confirms 2016 release, gives message to fans

As 2016 opens, so does the year for the release of most games that have been in the highly anticipated and much awaited lists in 2015. The list may be long, but it sure will include the Square Enix title “Final Fantasy XV”as it was recently revealed that the game will finally be released sometime this year.

“Final Fantasy XV” game director Hajime Tabata, on the official Square Enix blog, gave a special New Year message to fans and players that have been waiting patiently and eagerly for the release of the upcoming game. In his message, he shared that while the game is still being developed, they can now say that they will be able to release it this year.

“We will finally release ‘FFXV’ this year, in 2016!” Tabata said. “In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward, the final phase will focus on effort and willpower.”

With that, Tabata expressed a promise to deliver the best possible effort for the upcoming game. “I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft,” the game director continued. “We will do everything we can do to finish ‘FFXV’ to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure.”

The support they are getting from fans have been a great factor in making the game possible. It also pushed them to do more, and they are thankful for that. “The whole FFXV team appreciates all of the support from each and everyone one of you this past year. I cannot tell you how much it means to all of us.”

“We’d like to celebrate a wonderful New Year and as we approach the release of ‘FFXV,’ I’d like to enjoy that moment with you all,” Tabata finished.

Square Enix will be holding the newest Active Time report presentation for “Final Fantasy XV” sometime this month, where more details about the game are expected to be revealed.
