So much controversy has enveloped “Fifty Shades of Grey” since it was released early this year because of its general theme. Nonetheless, the movie is slated for two more sequels as reports reveal.
According to Daily Mail UK, a sequel of the movie will be released on Feb. 10, 2017, and it will be followed by the final film on Feb. 9, 2018. Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele) and Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) will return to reprise their roles in “Fifty Shades Darker.”
In the upcoming film, Anastasia and Christian will encounter new challenges pertaining to their relationship, noted Design & Trend. The sequel will also feature three new characters, namely, Mrs. Robinson, Jack Hyde, and Leila Williams. However, it is still uncertain who will portray these characters.
One of the criticisms regarding the first film is that it did depict very well the intimate scenes elaborated in the book. However, according to Movie Pilot, the sequel may address that as Johnson said in an interview, “I don’t have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame. I think there’s a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down.”
Meanwhile, in the finale titled “Fifty Shades Freed,” Anastasia will weigh if pursuing the relationship with Christian is beneficial for her or not. Christian and Anastasia will get married and will have their honeymoon in Europe. Upon their return, Christian will ask Anastasia to run his business. With doubts clouding her, she will turn to her best friend Kate (Eloise Mumford).
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is adapted from the book of E.L. James. The first film has grossed more than $560 million worldwide despite the controversies.
