Production of the highly anticipated sequel to the erotic romance franchise “Fifty Shades of Grey,” titled “Fifty Shades Darker,” is currently fully underway in Vancouver, Canada with recent sightings of the stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.

Dornan and Johnson, who portray Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively, were first seen sharing a tender moment as they kissed under an umbrella when raining. The romantic scene was later followed by an emotional one, presumed to be the moment when Ana learned the true motives of his boss, Jack Hyde. She was photographed running into Christian’s arms being consoled before she gets on the parked Audi car.

The movie follows the narrative of the original trilogy novel with the same title by author E.L. James, which delves deeper into Christian’s inner demons. It also features Ana landing a job in publishing. Jack is described to be a handsome editor who was nice to Ana at first and turned manipulative afterwards. He blackmailed her to sleep with him when she refused his advantages. In turn, she forced her way out, kneed him, and broke his finger as she ran out of the building.

It was previously announced that Eric Johnson will play the role of Jack. He will join newcomers to the movie such as Kim Basinger as Elena Lincoln, Bella Heathcote as Lila, Robinne Lee as an executive in Grey’s company, and Fay Masterson with yet to be disclosed role. Other returning cast includes Marcia Gay Harden as Christian’s mother Grace, Max Martini as Jason, Eloise Mumford as Kate, and Rita Ora as Mia.

“Fifty Shades Darker” is slated to hit the big screens on Valentine’s weekend next year, Feb. 10, 2017.

The final installment in the franchise “Fifty Shades Freed” will be filmed back-to-back with the second one, both are directed by James Foley. Actor Brant Daugherty has signed on the part of Sawyer in the series which is scheduled for release on Feb. 9, 2018. He will join the regular ensemble composed of the lead stars with Basinger, Johnson, Arielle Kebbel and Luke Grimes.
