As the last “Fast and Furious” movie, “Fast and Furious 7” raked in more than 1.5 billion dollars in terms of worldwide gross, Vin’s Diesel’s announcement for another sequel despite the shocking death of Paul Walker, who played an important character in the “Fast and Furious” films, did not really come as a surprise. While the film has yet to start filming before its April 14, 2017 showing date, the upcoming sequel has already left “Fast and Furious” fans speculating as to how the eighth installment of the film will unfold.
In terms of setting, it is rumored that the movie will have New York as its backdrop. According to Cinema Blend, Diesel said that the “Fast and Furious” crew will head to New York for their next mission. The website noted that, almost always, “Fast and Furious” movies were shot in L.A., but Diesel fulfilled his promise of bringing back the movie to Southern California via “Fast and Furious 7.” Despite the “Fast and Furious” films having featured several global cities, this is the first time it will ever feature the Big Apple on the frame.
Apart from the settings of the film, after months of wondering who the movie’s director will be, it has finally been confirmed that F. Gary Gray will be at the helm of this production, as written in Deadline. Gray is best known for his work, “Straight Outta Compton.”
Meanwhile, Fox News Latino reported that Ariadna Guiterrez, the controversial Miss Colombia 2015, will be a part of another Diesel movie, “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.” The almost Miss Universe – who wore the crown for a couple of minutes after Steve Harvey erroneously announced her as the winner instead of Philippines’ Pia Wurtzbach – is said to play as Diesel’s love interest in the movie.
TMZ reported that Gutierrez will have six scenes and three pages of dialogue.
