'Fallout 5' release date, news: Sequel in development? PS4 mods coming soon

Rumors are rife that Bethesda may be working on the sequel to their hit post-apocalyptic game “Fallout 4,” with the touted fifth installment allegedly already in development.

According to reports, the excitement for “Fallout 5” started gaining traction among the players when voice actor Ryan Alosio apparently shared that the new iteration is already in the pipeline. The actor also hinted that it may arrive in the market soon, presumably sometime in 2017. It has been noted that after going viral, the post was immediately taken down by the actor.

However, Frag Hero claims that Alosio’s revelation was only a prank. Despite players’ wish to have a new entry in the franchise, the publication shares that it appears Bethesda has yet to complete work on the currently available title.

On the other hand, there are speculations that the developers may have already trademarked the title “Fallout: New Orleans” in the European Union Intellectual Property Office as early as Aug. 5. The said location is deemed to be the sequel’s new setting to be explored as gamers try to survive outside of the safe vaults.

Since there is no official announcement yet from Bethesda regarding the matter, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.

As fans wait, they can first check out the new content for PlayStation 4. The expansion is said to allow players to modify some features in the game. After mod support, update 1.8 is said to follow which is expected to fix minor bugs encountered by users.

Moreover, iDigital Times listed the top five PS4 mods players can look forward to. These include cheats to unlock all vault gear, perks and building resources in an instant; Clean and Smooth, which gives the ability to simplify the building process and remove extra debris; Camping, that allows one to build a campfire and perch a tent with a sleeping bag; aesthetically-improved NPCs; and Enhanced Companion Storage with the limits substantially increased.

The exact date for the release of the PS4 mods remains under wraps.
