Fans have to wait a little longer for a brand-new installment of FOX’s hip-hop drama “Empire” as the series is taking a two-week hiatus. When it returns, it will feature the truth finally coming out in the open.
It can be recalled that in episode 4, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) visited Freda Gatz (Bre-Z) in jail in order to recover from post-traumatic stress disorder. Meanwhile, Shyne (Xzibit) and Andre (Trai Byers) fought over Nessa (Sierra A. McClain). Later in the narrative, Andre realized he had feelings for Nessa, prompting them to share romantic moments.
Moreover, Lucious (Terrence Howard) also felt threatened by Angelo’s (Taye Diggs) growing romantic connection with Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). He also forced Shyne to sign a contract with him.
Moving forward, episode 5 titled “One Before Another” will have Andre and Lucious on high alert as they wait for Shyne to retaliate after their latest business venture together went south.
Meanwhile, after not performing in front of his fans for a long time, Jamal teams up with Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) for a performance that he thinks could help him face his fears. Elsewhere, Cookie is caught off-guard during a routine meeting with her probation officer.
The upcoming episode was reportedly delayed due to the presidential debate and the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series. It will instead air on Nov. 2 at 9 p.m. ET.
Down the line episode 6 dubbed “Chimes at Midnight” has the company being hacked. Leaked details and information about people signed to Empire create feuds between artists and among the Lyon family.
Andre will take advantage of their dire situation to step up and prove his worth to the company. While Lucious continues to try and drive a wedge between Cookie and Angelo, Jamal finds himself in a love triangle. The episode is slated to hit the small screen on Nov. 9.
