'Empire' season 2b spoilers: what lies ahead for Rhonda

With “Empire” coming back before the month ends, series star Kaitlin Doubleday shared what Rhonda’s fate will be in the continuation of the show’s second season.

Fox’s groundbreaking hip hop drama “Empire” ended with a lot of things going on with the Lyon family. However, when Rhonda was suddenly shown falling off of a flight of stairs just before the credits rolled for the midseason hiatus, the guessing game among fans have started. Fortunately, after almost three months of speculating, Doubleday herself revealed some interesting tidbits on what viewers can expect from her character after her supposed accident.

The actress was interviewed by TV Line and divulged that Ronda actually knows who pushed her. Sometime this season, she will be confronting that person.

“She realizes who pushed her and… she gets to confront [him/her] in a very dynamic, scary, insane, crazy way,” Doubleday teased.

“I think the audience [will be] waiting for that confrontation for all eight episodes,” she continued. Ronda’s face-to-face with her assailant will arguably be a very interesting subplot in the overall story.

While Doubleday revealed the events moving forward, she did not disclose the identity of the assailant. What she further shared was that the team behind “Empire” went for a few re-writes and changes before they decided on which character caused Ronda to fall and lose the baby that she is carrying.

Fans have a strong inkling that Anika (Grace Gealey) may be the perpetrator but with Doubleday’s reveal and “Empire’s” knack of pulling the most unexpected twists, anybody could have done it.

After getting better in the hospital and moving on from her loss, Doubleday added that Rhonda will also be jumping fences in the latter half of the show’s current season. Instead of staying beside the Lyon family who she is a part of as she is married to the eldest Lyon, Andre (Trai Byers), she will eventually join Camilla and even work with her.

“There are some strange, weird alliances that happen that are unexpected in the next part of the season that involve Rhonda,” the actress hinted .

“Empire” season 2 will return on March 30 on Fox.
