At a recent panel, the cast of “Empire” revealed which celebrity guest stars they want to see in the popular musical drama series.

During the PaleyFest opening night on Friday, March 11, Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon), Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon), and Gabourey Sidibe (Becky Williams) took to the Dolby Theatre stage with “Empire” co-creator Lee Daniels to share some details about the upcoming return of Fox’s top-rated series.

At the event, the audience was treated to a screening of the show’s midseason premiere, which is titled “Death Will Have His Day.” It picks up after the December 2 finale in which Lucious got kicked out of the Empire board, Rhonda (Kaitilin Doubleday) was pushed off the stairs and left for dead, and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) betrayed his father.

The series, which has featured a slew of guest stars including Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Estelle, Xzibit, Petey Pablo, Snoop Dogg, Rita Ora, Ne-Yo, and others, is expected to add more performers to its impressive guest star roster. At the panel, the “Empire” cast and crew revealed who they want to see next in the series.

Howard’s list had Kendrick Lamar and Adele in it, while Sidibe’s had Beyonc. Prince was also mentioned.

After the panel, director Sanaa Hamri spoke to Entertainment Weekly, saying, “I have a wishlist of having D’Angelo on the show, Kendrick Lamar, and French Montana … not too many guest stars, but just about integrating those artists.”

“My passion is music,” she added.

Doubleday also commented, saying that though the guest stars are “amazing,” viewers also “loved the family in the first season and learning who they were and the drama just between these seven people.”

Previous reports have claimed that Mariah Carey could make an appearance in “Empire.” In August 2015, Smollett hinted at a Carey guest appearance but retracted his statement in September. That same month, Daniels told EW, “Mariah is coming on.”

“Empire” kicks off the back half of its second season on Wednesday, March 30, on Fox.
