Eminem new album 2016 release date: rapper collaborates with Skylar Grey for 'Kill for You' instead

Roughly three months before 2016 finally closes, there is still no word on the rumored new album of rapper Eminem. Instead, a collaboration single with another singer was recently dropped keeping fans hopeful.

Over the past few months, a multitude of speculations has flooded the internet piecing together clues on when the musician will eventually drop his newest album. Unfortunately, no official word from his camp has come out acknowledging the claims. Despite this, many believers are still hoping that the project will eventually see the light of day, if not this year, then sometime in 2017.

Eminem has recently been keeping a low profile with minimal public appearances and outings with the latest one happening in August when he joined fellow rapper Drake on stage for the latter’s Detroit concert. This led to a lot of longtime followers assuming that the 43-year-old may have already been back in the recording studio working on what could be a surprise album.

However, it should also be noted that the “Lose Yourself” singer has ventured into other projects that could be occupying his time. Earlier this year, his partnership with an online trading shop specializing in sneakers called StockX was announced.

More recently, Eminem came back to his music industry roots working on a song with frequent collaborator, Skylar Grey. The joint song titled “Kill for You” was not only produced by Eminem, but he also put some work on the lyrics.

“Since the first day I started writing ‘Kill for You,’ I thought the Bonnie and Clyde message would be more powerful as a duet,” Grey spilled to Rolling Stone. “I was stoked when Marshall put a verse on it.”

While the single is obviously not Eminem’s own, fans are still stoked to hear new music from the rapper. More so since his last album, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2,” dates back to 2013. Needless to say, this does not guarantee that a supposed solo album will follow anytime soon.
