Rumors have it that legendary rap artist Eminem may finally release a new album, three years after “The Marshall Mathers LP 2.”
Reports claim that the rapper’s touted ninth studio album is already under production and possibly already in the polishing stage. If this comes to fruition, it is expected to hit record stores, streaming services, and several digital platforms in the coming months.
Meanwhile, some speculate that the launch may be delayed since Eminem has been tapped to work on Paramount TV’s upcoming series. Deadline shared that the rapper is in negotiations with the studio to become part of the team for the project based on Joe Carnahan’s film, “Narc.”
The show will be set in Detroit, where Eminem was born and raised. He is reportedly invited to become executive producer and music supervisor for the crime thriller drama which will be helmed and written by Carnahan.
Similar to the movie, which originally starred Ray Liotta and Jason Patric as Detroit police detectives investigating the murder involving an undercover cop, the Motor City will have a major presence in the plot. It was put in development by Paramount TV a year ago and is expected to be taken out to interested networks.
Aside from the series, the rap god has also been busy with his other ventures which include a partnership with an auction site called StockX, known as an online stock market of things. In the site, he sells his own sneakers from his personal collection.
In a statement, the rapper said, “Sneakers have always been a huge interest of mine, for at least as long as I’ve been rapping, and I’m proud of the fact that I’ve had so many collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand … When I found out that they happen to be doing it from downtown Detroit, it made even more sense to get involved.”
Eminem has yet to release an official statement regarding his next album so available information should be taken with a grain of salt.
