A brand new arc will open up for the ongoing hit anime series “Dragon Ball Super.” The new arc will immediately follow the last one and will air on June 12 as the 47th episode of the series. This new chapter in the story of “Dragon Ball Super” will feature a familiar face from the future, as news of a dark time ahead comes to the heroes of the present day.
Toei Animation, the studio for “Dragon Ball Super,” recently began streaming the first preview video for the upcoming episode titled “SOS From the Future! A New Black Enemy Reveals Himself!” This episode would serve as the opening for the new “Future Trunks Arc.”
In this new arc, Future Trunks comes to the present day bearing grim news. In the time where he came from, the Earth had been freed from the domination of the Androids. Suddenly, a powerful enemy only called as “Black” appears. Trunks takes him on, but is overpowered by this new nemesis even in his Super Saiyan form. Bulma, Trunks’s mother, was able to set up a time machine for Trunks to go back in time and seek the help of Goku and Vegeta from the present day but with the amount of energy they had gathered, the time travel machine was only good for one trip.
The anime’s official website asks, “Why has Future Trunks returned to the present again after defeating Cell and attaining peace?” and “Who will be the future’s new enemy?”
The “Future Trunks Arc” would follow the recent “God of Destruction Champa” arc, with the long running tournament between the fighters of Universe Six and Universe Seven now coming to a conclusion.
The new enemy for the arc would be called as “Goku Black,” and “Dragon Ball” creator Akira Toriyama wrote the story and created the character designs for the new arc.
“Dragon Ball Super” airs Sundays on Fuji TV in Japan.
