Dishonored is set to return the video game world with its second installment, Dishonored 2, in the first half of 2016.

In the first game, Corvo Attano was the main character as she sought revenge and became an assassin in order to fight for the murder she was framed for. In the sequel, players can either continue using Corvo, the body guard of the Empress where the storyline focused on, or Emily Kaldwin, the young empress who was an unplayable character initially.

For players who were able to play the first game, Harvey Smith, one of the Directors, said that using the character or Corvo would be the same as the freshman video game, while in Dishonored 2, Emily has new unique powers and animations as she becomes a central playable character. “If you play as Emily it’s all new she has her own set of powers, her own assassinations and animations, so she feels different, she feels like a finesse character. In the video, we show a power called Far Reach [a teleportation ability] which can be upgraded in different ways, and it changes your flow through the world and your mobility. Just on a video game level, moving through the world feels different. But if you play Corvo, it’s all this classic stuff, it’s the rat swarms, it’s possession, it’s stopping time he feels more heavy and brutal, he’s an older guy,” as reported in The Guardian.

Nonetheless, the game’s central theme will remain the same. With characters armed with weapons of destruction, the aim is for them not to use it as the world dims when characters use these. The game theme stays true to its original vision, “A game about an assassin where you don’t have to kill anymore,” as noted by Polygon.

Dishonored is an action and adventure video game from a first player perspective aimed at defeating enemies through the use of stealth action with some weapons and gadgets. The battle is done in self-contained and mission-focused areas where powers and in-game movement can be explored in more than one way. The first game was released three years ago. Dishonored 2 takes the setting 15 years after its initial installment after the Dunwall Plague, with the game made available for Play Station 4, Xbox One, and PCs.
