The team heads to the Old West and meets an old friend in an all new episode of The CW’s “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” season 1.
Titled “The Magnificent Eight,” the Waverider crew decides to hide out for a little while with Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) setting their course to the said place. Upon their arrival, they meet a band of outlaws who puts the small town in serious danger and jeopardy. In a lucky turn of events, Rip’s friend and fellow DC hero Johan Hex (guest star Johnathon Schaech) steps in during the fight and saves the day.
Comic book fans may remember Hex as the character created in the 1970s by John Albano and Tony DeZuniga. He is described to be a true legend of the Old West who is a morally ambiguous gunslinger. He is also a Civil War veteran who became a bounty hunter to protect and avenge the innocent.
“Ever since we decided that ‘Legends’ would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim previously said.
In a recently released set of promotional photos, Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) has his gun out as Rip looks for cover before taking his aim. Sheriff Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) can also be seen pointing his hat towards someone, while Jeb Stillwater (Bren Strait) arrives with his squad. Interestingly, Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) is also featured although he seems to be missing in action.
The sneak peek revealed the bandits asking Ray, “Who the hell are you supposed to be?” to which the latter answered, “John Wayne.” It was then followed by a montage of action-packed sequences about to unfold in the installment.
Another video highlights Hex introducing himself to people. The voice in the background states that the town is being terrorized by the Stillwater gang and Ray offered the help of the team. The clip ends with Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) saying to Mick, “You shoot people,” to which he retorted with, “You’re welcome!”
Season 1 episode 11 of “Legends of Tomorrow” is slated to air on Thursday, April 14 at 8 P.M. EST.
