Former hit small screen shows are coming back this year with confirmed reboots of “Gilmore Girls,” “Full House” (Fuller House) and even “The X-Files,” which is already in the middle of airing season 10. On that note, Katie Holmes, former star of “Dawson’s Creek” was recently asked if there are any plans of the show following suit.
The actress who played Joy Potter in all of the seasons of the teen drama unfortunately answered “no.”
“When I look back at the show, it had a certain charm,” Holmes said in an interview with “The Today Show.” “It was before the Internet really took over, it was before iPhones, it was before this kind of new form of communication, and it had this certain feeling that was of the ’90s. I don’t think that in today’s world, you could achieve that same kind of feeling.”
However, for the sake of the idea, Holmes was still asked whether the characters from the series will be om any social media sites like Facebook. The actress answered, “No, they text all the time. Like the rest of us. They text each other while they’re sitting with each other.”
It can be remembered that back in 2014, Holmes revealed through her spread in Elle Canada that she was not really sure if she had already removed herself from the series which ran from 1998-2003.
“I don’t know if I have moved past it, but I don’t really care,” she was quoted. “I had a ball doing it, and it’s really nice to be a part of something that did affect people. And it created a lot of opportunities for all of us. You can’t really ask for much more than that.”
This follows Joshua Jackson’s remarks of hoping for a revival of the show saying, “Well, that depends, our show creator Kevin Williamson would have to ask. People always forget that Michelle Williams’ Jen character was killed off, so they really need to figure out a way around that.” The actor played Pacey Witter, Joey’s boyfriend, in the show.
Holmes is currently promoting her new film “Touched with Fire” which is now showing in cinemas.
