In just about a month, season 2 of “Daredevil” will return to the small screen with the initial trailer released this week as a sneak peek of what is to come.
On its Twitter page, the show posted quite a lengthy trailer, along with the caption, “When does right become wrong?” The video gave a glimpse of the hell that is about to be unleashed in Hell’s Kitchen as it introduces the antagonist, The Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal.
The clip was slow-paced and showed snippets of sad and dark scenes and memories with opera music playing in the background. At the first part of the video, it showed Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) asking, “Father, why do I still feel guilty?” to which the priest answered, “The guilt means your work is not yet finished.”
Along the trailer, it showed some of the victims of the antagonist, all lifeless on the ground. It was only at around a minute through the video that The Punisher was introduced, while the rest of the city looked for Daredevil to aid them.
Although The Punisher also intended to protect their city, he seemed to be wreaking havoc instead with his ruthless actions. More than halfway through, Daredevil confronted him, “Why are you doing this?!” However, The Punisher only insulted him, saying that he was “half measure,” a “man who can’t finish the job,” and a “coward.”
Toward the end of the clip, fans glimpsed Elektra (Elodie Yung) teasing Matt. No further details have been revealed regarding the new character yet, but a new trailer is set for release on Feb. 25, which may elaborate more on her.
Season 2 of “Daredevil” is expected to return on March 18 on Netflix.
