Netflix show Daredevil will be having a blast in its second season when the next interesting character to be introduced is The Punisher.
It will be a Daredevil versus Punisher season on its second run according to Screen Rant. Strictly speaking, it is not really a direct combat type of Daredevil versus Punisher, but more of disagreement in the manner of handling the bad guys.
Actor Jon Bernthal is set to portray the role of Frank Castle or The Punisher. Originally, Netflix’s Daredevil show was made to comprise one out of four slow but individually developed characters for the mini-series The Defenders. But given the success of Daredevil on its first run, they now changed the pacing and decided to accelerate things for the second season. The first season’s finale left a huge gap as far as villains are concerned and the developments for Season 2 may be exactly what the Netflix show needs to sustain its impressive momentum with the fans.
According to Deadline, aside from the arrival of the Punisher who will question Daredevil’s moral way of doing things against his killing spree penchant, Elektra, Daredevil’s love interest will also be coming into the picture as well as his arch-enemy, Bullseye. Beating Bullseye may be the key to balancing the moral tact of Daredevil with the logical cold ruthlessness of war veteran Punisher.
The Punisher is one of the comic book characters who pushed the boundaries of violence in the comics. He was a former war veteran who experienced the tragedy of losing his family and loved ones. After that, he orchestrated killing sprees that bordered more on logic than on emotion. He was often clashing with Daredevil and Spider-man because of his unorthodox and violent ways of exacting juistice on Marvel universe’s hooligans.
