Daredevil season 2: Stick back as Matt Murdock's martial arts mentor

A recurring character from season 1 is expected to make a return to the Netflix series “Daredevil” when its second season begins.

According to the Christian Post, Scott Glenn will reprise his role as Stick, Matt Murdock’s martial arts mentor. The news first broke on the official Daredevil Twitter account when a photo of Matt and Stick sitting together on a park bench was posted on the social networking site.

However, Realty Today said that Stick may have a hidden agenda of his own for season two. The website cited a preview that showed Stick and Stone having a conversation, and noted that Stone had been presumed in season one to be a member of The Chaste.

Daredevil executive producer Marco Ramirez confirmed the return of Glenn to the series.

“In some ways, Stick is to Marvel’s Daredevil what Scott Glenn has been to film and TV a magnetic and awesome force to be reckoned with. It’s an honor to welcome him back,” the Christian Post quoted him as saying.

Aside from Glenn, Elden Hensen and Deborah Ann Woll will both be returning as Foggy and Karen, respectively for Season 2, Realty Today added.

In other news, Jon Bernthal revealed in his Twitter account the arsenal of firearms that his character, Frank Castle or the Punisher, will be making use of in the second season. The photo showed a selfie of Bernthal, while behind him is a rack of high-powered firearms at least ten guns high and captioned: “PUNISH.”

Bernthal’s involvement was confirmed earlier by Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, who expressed his excitement at working with the actor.

“We’re so happy to have Jon Bernthal,” Quesada said, as quoted by the International Business Times.

“We have a world-class actor in Charlie Cox that we want to make sure we chose and were able to attain an actor who is on that same level,” the Marvel exec added, stating that seeing both Cox and Bernthal on screen would be epic.
