The 23rd season of “Dancing With the Stars” will be here in a few weeks, and fans are close to learning which celebrities will be competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy this fall. Ahead of the celebrity cast announcement, professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy revealed who the returning pros are for the new season.
Chmerkovskiy, who won season 20 with Rumer Willis, will definitely be back in season 23. In an interview on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Aug. 23, the dancer said that the new season is going to be “amazing.”
“We’re going to have an incredible cast as always, but I’m also excited for the pros,” said Chmerkovskiy. “We have a lot of different pros coming back. Some pros from back, back in the day, so I’m excited.”
Among the professional dancers who will be returning is Gleb Savchenko, who competed with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump in season 16. Also returning are Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber and Witney Carson, who won season 19 with Alfonso Ribeiro. Set to return after sitting out last season is Allison Holker, who gave birth in April to her first child with husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss.
It is expected that apart from the eight pros, more returning dancers will be announced along with the celebrity cast next week on “Good Morning America.” No contestants have been officially announced at the moment, but there are rumors that “The Bachelorette” JoJo Fletcher, as well as former Disney star Jake T. Austin, will be competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy this season. Several Olympians are also rumored to join the dance competition show, including Simone Biles, Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky.
Latest “DWTS” rumors claim that model-actress-entrepreneur Amber Rose is joining the cast of the upcoming season. Multiple sources told E! News that Rose is the latest star to sign on in the reality competition.
The official lineup will be revealed on Aug. 30 on “Good Morning America.” The 23rd season of “Dancing With the Stars” premieres Monday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
