Two familiar faces will return to “Dancing with the Stars” when the show opens its 22nd season in March.
Based on a report by IBTimes, judge Len Goodman, who was not part of the panel in season 21 due to commitments with U.K.’s “Strictly Come Dancing,” will be back for season 22 along with pro dancer Mark Ballas, who will also be staging a comeback.
Goodman confirmed his return in a taped message aired during the Nov. 24 grand finale of season 21, where he warned that he will not be taking any nonsense from any contestant next season.
Ballas’ return, on the other hand, may be related to rumors that pro dancer Derek Hough, who won his sixth Mirror Ball trophy with celebrity partner Bindy Irwin will be leaving the show.
In an earlier interview with the dancer, Hough was very noncommittal when he was asked if he was still going to be part of the show next year.
“I don’t know, who knows. I have to say this isn’t a bad way to go out,” he said, referring to his latest win.
Meanwhile, while the official list of celebrity contestants has still not been released, there have been a few who have shared that they are in talks to compete in season 22.
New York Giants and NFL running back Rashad Jennings confirmed to TMZ that he has been approached by the “DWTS” team about his possible involvement in the show.
While fans of the show are speculating which celebrities will be cast in “DWTS,” judge Bruno Tinoli has been cast for a Hollywood movie, finally fulfilling his dream of acting in the big screen.
The judge, who admitted that acting was his first passion, was earlier cast in “Absolute Beginners” and “What a Girl Wants” in minor roles but this time, his “top secret” role will give him more exposure, Bustle reported.
