Jodie Sweetin, one of the contenders in “Dancing with the Stars” season 22, injured her foot while rehearsing for her upcoming performance after her partner accidentally landed incorrectly on her during their practice routine.
In a statement, a spokesperson revealed, “Jodie hurt her foot [yesterday] rehearsing for Monday’s show. This is one of the toughest nights of the season, as the couples have to take on famous dances and recreate some of the greatest routines of all time,” reporteed E! Online.
Sweetin and her dance partner, Keo Motsepe, were practicing “Try” by Pink, along with the actual choreographers of the number, RJ Durell and Nick Florenz. However, Motsepe accidently landed on the ankle of Sweetin.
In the video preview, Sweetin screamed as she landed in pain and worried about what will come next. She was then taken by an ambulance to a Los Angeles hospital where she got treatment.
Although she has already been released from the hospital, it is still uncertain whether she will be able to recover well enough to compete on Monday night. Adding to the injury, the theme of the upcoming episode is focused on famous dance performances that Sweetin wants to do.
Prior to finding out what their routine will be, Sweetin admitted, “There are so many iconic dance moments that I would love the chance to pay homage to,” reported People. “This show is just allowing me so many opportunities to live out big dreams.”
However, after getting injured, Sweetin may not be able to perform in the upcoming episode. In a statement by the network to the same entertainment portal, they said, “This is one of the toughest nights of the season. At this point [Jodie] is resting her foot and taking it day by day.”
“Dancing with the Stars” season 22 airs on Mondays at 8 P.M. EST on ABC.
