Following the departure of Maddy Ziegler in the middle of season 6, the future of reality series “Dance Moms'” is rumored to be on precarious grounds.
The latest reports suggest that the Lifetime series is having some kind internal shake up. Some other dancers from the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) including Jojo Siwa and Nia Sioux Frazier are said to be also moving to greener pastures following Maddie’s suit.
Siwa’s absence during the team’s Sheer Talent Competition stint in Washington last week sparked the rumors of the young dancer preparing her final bow on the program. However, Siwa was quick to shoot down speculations explaining that she had other matters to attend to and was by no means trying to ditch her team.
It turns out that the 13-year-old was attending another function on the same day, which was the 2016 Women of Excellence Luncheon hosted by the Ladylike Foundation in Beverly Hills. Still, some fans cannot help but tinker with the possibility that Siwa is simply broadening her horizons by picking the social event over joining her team in a competition.
Frazier, on the other hand, has started to book gigs for herself with a scheduled performance on off-Broadway show “Trip of Love” at Stage 42 next month. Interestingly, the ALDC will also be donning the stage at the same event but there is no word yet on whether the Frazier will be joining the rest of the crew.
It can be remembered that Maddie’s now solo career started when she became Sia’s staple dancer in her music videos. Currently, the acclaimed dancer has a slew of projects ahead of her including a judging stint at “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.”
Both Siwa and Frazier have a good chance of getting more of the spotlight in “Dance Moms” should the show be renewed for a seventh season. With the departure of Maddie and her sister Mackenzie, as well as Chloe Lukasiak, the remaining two dancers will arguably have the bulk of the attention from choreographer Abby Lee who grooms the aspiring young dancers.
