Are some original “Dance Moms” stars returning to the series for its seventh season? Previous reports claimed that Chloe Lukasiak might be coming back to the show for season 7 after the 15-year-old posted on Instagram that it was her last day at her original studio. The post instantly spurred rumors that the dancer might be returning to Abby Lee Miller’s dance company. However, in a new interview, Lukasiak debunked the rumors and confirmed that she will not be coming back to “Dance Moms” for its new installment.
Speaking with Maximo TV, Lukasiak simply answered “I will not,” when asked about a potential return to the reality show.
“I left in season 4 and I’m just planning on continuing to dance and act off the show,” she explained.
It was reported that Lukasiak’s mother, Christi Lukasiak, had a disagreement with Miller back in season 4. In episode 31 of the season, the two had a screaming match after nationals, and Miller screamed that Lukasiak was “finished” and that she was “washed up.” The dancer, who was 13 at the time, cried as she said that she still wanted to dance and be a part of the ALDC team.
Season 7 will feature new dancers after fan favorites Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler left the show to pursue other projects. Maddie is now a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance,” and the 13-year-old is also about to make her big screen debut later this year. Meanwhile, JoJo Siwa appears to have confirmed that she will be back on the show after telling Enstarz that she is looking forward to “a lot of different dances this year” which include jazz routines.
It appears that Miller is looking for new dancers to fill the Ziegler sisters’ places as she has been frequently posting open audition notices on her Instagram account. It remains to be seen if other original dancers such as Kendall Vertes and Nia Sioux will be returning to the show.
“Dance Moms” returns for the second half of season 6 on Sept. 6 at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime. Season 7 is slated to premiere in 2017.
